"ARGO BOAT LAUNCH"

Oil on canvas
11x14"
New  Available

This is a favorite springtime, summer and autumn spot along the Huron River in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
I have enjoyed gazing in the afternoons.  I decided to take my mini art studio on the road via my vehicle.
I found the perfect spot to paint an old picnic table adjacent to the parking lot that is the boat launch area that this painting
romanticizes.  Below is a painting of the same spot with figures.

"Purely Michigan"

Oil on canvas 36x60"

but......... why stop here.. Another oil painting of Argo Boat Launch

"ARGO BOAT LAUNCH 2"

Oil on canvas 8x10"
Available in print

I love Michigan........ except in February LOL.
It is true that a large part of painting landscapes involves observation. Regarding Plein-Air painting.  I have no qualms
spending as much time enjoying the surroundings as I possibly can.  Allowing myself
the opportunity to internalize the visual energy, transform it into emotion and then execute in paint! Outdoors, right there
right where it is, when it is.  However, what I do like about February in the depths of winter... is being able to paint
from reference pics, images I shoot, save on the data base just for that purpose.

Here below is what a reference pic might look like.

If you have a favorite vacation spot, and have pics from your cell phone or digital camera, you can commission
an oil painting from my studio.  Let me know what you enjoyed most about it.
Imagination like timing is everything.
